Transmission Bearings?
Quick story short. My car was making a sqeeking sound like the same sound you would get reversing but in 1st and 2nd gear. The mechanic I brought it to said it was definitely the throwout bearing and recommended to do the clutch as well.
So I got the full clutch kit and got it replaced. The car still sounds like the same. So I'm wondering what other bearings in the transmission needed to be replaced.
I'm a little worried driving the car around like it is now. Because I heard it can possible cause more harm to the gear and possible ruin the transmission in the long run. I've spoken to the mechanic and he said he will go back in if its a faulty bearing.
Has anyone come across this issue? What did you fix or what would you recommend.
Thanks for your time.

In general, the throwout bearing is bad if there is a noise when the clutch is depressed. If the clutch is out and there's a noise, then it's most likely a bearing in the transmission (usually the mainshaft bearing). You might as well get a bearing kit and change them all if you're going to be in there, or even better, rebuild the whole thing.

Hi, wondering if you have any updates on your issue?
I recently came across similar problem with my 2005 civic. On idle, I hear a noise that I can best describe as "sounding like a chopper" or like a diesel engine. But the noise goes away when the clutch is depressed. I'm also experiencing a lack in power when accelerating on 3-5th gears.
I took it to the dealership and they did not have good news. $1100 for labour and $950 in parts for transmission bearings replacement and new clutch. Going to get a quote from local mechanic, hoping it'll be cheaper.
At the dealership, I was told I could still get away with normal driving for about a month or so before really needing to fix it.
