Power steering return tube '99 sedan
In the process of replacing the crank pulley, timing belt, seals, I sprung a leak in the return line. Two plastic clamps were broken so the tube moves freely but I was careful to not move the line. On a cross member near the firewall is a clamp with a rubber bushing with a badly rusted screw & nut and that is where the leak is. Looks like the rust grew around the tube to the frame and the leak is on the bottom of the tube. I tried to remove the nut but it wasn't moving so soaking it with PB. My guess is there is a pin hole on the bottom of the tube.
The problem is Honda discontinued the part. Can I replace the tube with a hose or brake line? I've been to the junk yards over the past 2 year's and finding an Accord from 1998 on is impossible.
