Question regarding the power steering hose recall.
Hey everyone, early last year my girlfriend's 05 V6 began leaking power steering fluid from the high pressure line. I came to this forum to do a bit of research before trying to replace it and found that there was a pretty big recall on this part and her car was included in the second wave of affected vehicles released.
We are in Canada and the car was bought in the US and imported here. At the time, we notified our local Honda dealership and they did not have a problem replacing the hose, although I vaguely remember them mentioning that there may be a problem getting the correct hose.
I now know that a redesigned hose was not readily available until early 2013. The replacement line that was used has started leaking in the same way as the original. I was wondering, is there was a guaranteed way to distinguish between the original and the redesigned line?
I'd like to verify this before I contact the dealership.

Yes, the redesigned hose has a lot of insulation and shielding on it. They should install the new insulated hose for you. I had replaced the original hose myself years before the recall, and was reimbursed for that hose (but not my labor).
