Engine stumbles for a sec then jumps to life during startup...
Kind of hard to describe, but my car is having some "troubles" starting. It starts everytime, so nothing has really failed me. Its an OBD0 Dohc zc in an 89 Si
But when I turn the key over, Id say it takes a few extra cranks than it should, but then once the engine starts the rpms stay real low and you can hear the engine not hitting perfectly for a second, maybe two, and all of the sudden the rpms jump up and the car is idling fine @ 1500 til it warms up a bit and comes down to proper idle.
What would cause that inital crappy start?
Car has new plugs, wires, rotor, dist cap, fuel filter, pcv valve in the last 1k miles.
Throwing a code 8 currently, because the distributor is aftermarket and probably not the greatest

I wish **** would just downright break/fail sometimes so you damn well knew what the problem was
Started fine the last few days, idle is starting to wander though

I just got my 91 HF a few weeks ago. It has started to do just do just about what you describe. Starts right up then dies. It will then start up again and run fine, or take two tries. I am going to change the fuel filter, but I thought I remember something else from BITD with our family 92 accord. Can't the fuel pump relay, hesitate or fail eventually?
