battery/notification light question
Hello all,
Going to go ahead and get it out of the way: I know next to nothing about cars. My 06 civic has been sitting around in a parking lot for about a month. I tried to start it and it would not start. So I looked under the hood and there's a massive rock of blue corrosion where the battery cable clamps onto the positive end of the battery (could this have something to do with the insane heat the South East has been experiencing??)
I cleaned all that off and replaced the battery (which was about 3 years old). However the ABS and BRAKE indicators on the dashboard are on now and won't go off.
The manual says if both of these lights are on at the same time, take it to your dealer immediately. I'd like to think the lights need to be reset somehow since the battery went out, but I really don't know. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
