Default IACV problem / questions 2001 GSR b18c1

Hey guys, I have a 2001 GSR stock B18C1. My check engine light came on gave me IACV code. I removed it, cleaned it and fired the engine back up. I had, and still have Idle problems. The engine will not sustain a regular idle, and idles around 200 to 700 RPM's and fluctuates.

I put 12v to the IACV and the valve opens and closes perfectly. When the engine is idling, if I unplug the IACV the engine dies, with the engine off and the accessories turn on, when I plug in the IACV I hear the IACV "click" and there is a CONTINUOUS electrical humming noise.

Is the ECU on a B18C1 supposed to be sending a CONSTANT electrical signal to the IACV? When is the ECU suppose to send a signal?

Thanks guys for all your help.

I couldn't agree with you more! I took off the manifold and reassembled everything according to the manual specifications. Followed the Manuals vacuum lines exactly! I am very confident that there is no vacuum leaks however I will look again to verify as we all know the human error is always our biggest enemy.

Do you know if the IACV should have a constant and continuous signal sent from the ECU?

Check this video starting at 3:52.

that was the best information that i could find. I am having the same issue right now where my IACV is making that humming noise. I unbolted it and turned the key on and is seams to be staying open with a constant "on" humming noise. but as the video states it should be off more than on. Did you ever solve this problem because i am having the same issue where my car wont start or if it does it idles way too high and then also falls flat on its face or farts one or two times.

Fixed the problem after I cleaned it out with some "knock'er loose" spray can. Only needed to take the two bolts out, spray it in, let it sit for about 5mins, and then dump the exess out. Cleaned my spark plugs after cuz they were caked in fuel and then started it up and was good to go. Good luck guys
