Keyless entry remote question

Keyless entry remote question
Does anyone know if a keyless remote for a 2001 prelude will reset to work on my 97 Civic EX? I tried one of the reset modes and can' seem to get it to work but wasnt sure if maybe im doing the reset method wrong.
And yes the EX has the stock radio with the keyless remote transmitter.
