Default 91 Si a/c tensioner help?

With the a/c belt off should the tensioner spin freely? Mine does not spin freely once I tighten the bolt to the a/c tensioner. My car came without an a/c belt so today I went and bought one and installed it. I get this squeaking noise coming from the a/c compressor/ belt. Im thinking my compressor is bad but after taking off the belt I spin the tensioner and that does not spin.

You can replace the bearing if you can get it removed. I haven't done it, I saw it on CRX Community.

Quote:
the bearing number is 6203. just ask any bearing supplier for that number. its very common.
