Default preventing rust on calipers without paint

I just bought some remanufactured calipers to be installed on my car and they currently are unpainted with no rust. I like the bare metal look, but i don't want them rusting in the future. I read that there's a product called VHT matte clear that is a clear coat that dries matte. I do not want the glossy look. Is there any way i can get this stuff on the brake caliper without using primer (cuz primer is colored) and make it last as intended?

Is there any clear primer?

Is there any other alternative besides painting?

I would just make sure calipers are very clean and use a clear of your liking. I have done this when polishing aluminum wheels to prevent oxidation. Works fine.

wheels don't see any where near the temps your calipers do. op buy some gunmetal caliper paint. About as close as you can get or keep them covered with fish oil daily to prevent rust.

I don't recommend getting oil too close to your calipers.

Any sort of oil would be... disadvantageous to get on your brakes. Albeit one probably wouldn't have a problem unless they were applying the oil using a fire hose, you never know.

I like to give my advice on this forum.

There are high temp clear coats in cans sold for use on engines at the chain stores, but I'm not sure how well they adhere to bare metal. I have a few cans, but nothing to test them on at the moment.

This might also be an option, although it is a little steep.
