How do you read the OBD0 to OBD1 codes?
Im confused on how you can read the codes when the check engine light is on. I have a 1989 Honda Civic LX and i cant seem to find the wires by the passenger door to ground it. The car has been converted from obd-0 to obd-1 and I am running a p75 ecu. Please let me know because the car wont allow me surpass 3K RPM with the supercharger. Thanks in advance!
i dont know about your sedan but my crx has a two wire plug that comes out on the driver side of the engine bay with a little white rubber plug over it. either put a paper clip/wire in both holes and turn the key to on to count the codes. long flash is 10's short flashes are 1's
my obd 0 to obd 1 conversion harness has 2 sets of wires, 1 set is colorful and includes the wires that activiate the 02 sensor and vtec solenoid, well that bunch of wires has a yellow wire that you ground anywhere on the body following that your check engine light should come on.
thanks guys! It would definitely help with some picture guys! Thanks a whole bunch, ill look at it tomorrow. @ Ghosthatch, i saw a clip with a yellow rubber on top of the wire but i wasnt sure if it was, it is located on the driver side near the powersteering fluid resevoir.
thanks choocko.
@ghosthatch, I tried the wire with a yellow cap under the hood by the drivers side located near the Powersteering resevoir and it worked! Im stoked, funny thing is it is throwing code 4 for the CPK sensor. I looked around and checked for loose wiring by the distributor and I decided to ground one wire directly from the negative battery terminal and grounded to a good source and check engine light went off! took the car for a drive and it drives great, only thing i want to boost about 8psi-10psi for th JRSC. Im deciding to keep the supercharger and throw it into my EK. THanks guys!
