car starts but then cuts off when you realease the key. i just changed the ignition switch today. any other suggestions???? i really really need help.

 

maybe the ecu doesnt get power when u take out key? hows main relay?

 

Are you talking about the lock cylinder, or the ignition switch, it is the electrical part that fails, which is the ignition switch.

Check your main fuses. Does anything happen before you crank it, in the RUN II position?

 

do you have a lot of keys on your key ring? I have seen where someone had a ton of keys on there key ring and actually wore out the cylinder, and once let go it actually sprung back to the off position, but it was so close it looked like it was still on.

 

Check to make sure you have all the proper connections
