Default 1998 CRV won't turn off!!

Thanks for your help in advance!

I have a customer with a '98 CRV that will not turn off with the key! I checked and the ign wire(blk/yel) is staying powered with key off. disconnected ig switch plugs (2) from fuse box, still stays running. Something is causing that circuit to latch. Disconnect battery for a couple minutes, re-connect and ignition circuit is off...cycle the key and ignition wire stays latched again. Any thoughts?!? To recap: turn key off, crv stays running, disconnect switch, stays running...

Possibly a faulty ignition switch, just the electrical switch.

If I disconnect the ignition switch assembly from the fusebox, and the vehicle continues to run, doesn't that all but eliminate the switch as being the problem?

I glanced over that part. Yes, that should eliminate the switch.

I would check the distributor, distributor wiring and connectors next.
