Default Losing brake pedal, sputtering issue, and oil leak 93 LX

Hey everybody,

Thanks to help here I got my starter fixed for $0 and took my car out for a spin today! First time it has run in about 6 months.

First thing I took it for some fresh gas.

A few hundred feet after I took off from the gas station the car sputtered for about 5 seconds, then it picked back up and ran alright.

Is this likely from trash being stirred up in the gas tank from the sloshing caused by adding fuel? Or maybe a mostly clogged fuel filter?

The previous owner had run it out of gas and overheated the starter trying to start it. I know how bad that can be for picking up all the junk in the tank.

Are there measures I should take beyond changing the fuel filter?

Second Issue:

When sitting on a hill I was loosing brake pressure. All the way until the pedal was virtually on the floor.

Then after taking off the pedal would return and work okay. Still can tell the brakes aren't 100%

Third:

I have an oil leak from my distributor o-ring. I have got conflicting stories of the ease of this job. I don't have a timing light or know the first thing about timing.

I am scared if I take the distributor off that my timing will get messed up and I will have a non-running car. Anyone got any input on this?

if you want to take it off and put it in the same position then get a sharpie and draw a line on the flange to the middle of the bolt. do this for all the bolts so you can get as close as possible to the old settings.

but you should invest in a good timing light.

More likely just stirring up old gas that was in the tank that has turned to crap.
I would put some SeaFoam into the tank that will help break down any goo, also acts as a fuel stabilizer.
If the fuel filter was clogged the car would either not run, or misfire due to a lean condition. If it just stumbled more than likely the fuel that was in the fuel rail/lines was the older fuel that has lost its potency.

If you feel adventuresome you could always drop the tank and verify that there aren't any foreign materials in the tank that could clog the fuel pump pickup and sock assembly. Although that is a bit of work to do on the Accord. I would just add a bottle of seafoam to a fresh tank, let it idle for a few minutes to circulate the fuel/Seafoam through the lines and call it good.

Check for any wet spots or leaks at the calipers/hoses etc. But more than likely the MC is failing and needs to be replaced.

It could be the outer O ring, but if it's leaking from inside the distributor then it is the internal seal.
