Default Which tranny to get!?Either 96-97R or 98 spec R!?

My car is a 95 Gsr Sedan.Im doin a buildup on the motor and i am now looking to decide what tranny to go with.I would love to have the short gearing of the 98spec...but from what i understand....highway speeds/rpms suck.Also..with gears this short...would my powerband be used affectively? This will be a motor with some skunk2 stage 2 cams along with a 9k redline.Im looking for an all around tranny.Since im aiming to go multi purpose with my car. From drag racing, autoX,to road course.Any ideas?

96 ITR tranny = USDM ITR tranny.
98 spec ITR Tranny = USDM ITR 1-3, USDM GS-R 4-5 and 4.785 (or whatever ) FD.

IMO USDM ITR tranny (or 96 spec) with an ATS final drive.

At the worse, 98 spec with 96 spec/usdm itr 4/5. The RPM does not "suck" even with the USDM 5th and ATS.

In a comparison on highway speeds.Lets say 80 mph in 5th gear.Where would my rpm's be at with these trannies? And probrably on 16' rims.I drive alot on the highways..i really dont want to stress out my engine with high rpms for a long amount of time.Am i sacrificing my top end with a 98'spec transmission?Thanks..

The avatar is changed. No one even noticed until this post!HAHA
