Are ex auto transmissions different from dx auto trannsmissions?

I'm dropping a d16y8 into my 96 civic dx but the motor didnt come with a transmission so i was wonderin if i should bolt up my dx auto tranny to it.

there is no difference between the two trannys casing wise or cosmetic. IF there is a difference, it would be the gears, and as for that, your never gonna tell the difference. It will bolt right up.

It will bolt up, but I don't think it would work too well. I have a 98 EX auto tranny with 45,000 miles on it if you wanna buy it for $120 + shipping. I'm swapping in a B18B so I have no use for it anymore.
