Help on my suspenion setup.
Alright I been searching and searching for the best setup for what am looking for. I cant seem to find anything. I would like to have my crv lowered of course i really dont like the gap it has in the front. Heres the problem. I will be carrying my supermoto rmz450 on the hitch and no not on a trailer. i would like to know which shock would be best to handle the weight of the crv and also the weight of the bike. at the same time lowered. this what i was thinking of. Bilstein rear shocks but not to sure if itll handle being low even still i have maybe a two gap in the rear which is fine. and the front use civic shocks. will the civic handle the weight of the crv? if you have any question feel free to ask away thanks again for the help....
I would pick out info for you from these but I think it's best you just read them all:

for the rear.....theres a lot of combinations you could use...
for your application i would say full coilover system would be better...
drop it to the height you desire and adjust the damping system to the point where you wont rub..
that way if youre not carrying you supermoto...all you have to do is adjust the damping system to medium/soft and keep the height...

How much are you looking to spend is a better question. lol Koni yellows and ground control coil overs are nice for about 900. Dampener control and ride height adjustable.
if you have an adjustable system itll be a lot better...
youll just have to try different applications and find the best set up for your application..
getting a system where you cant adjust height and/or stiffness will be a try and error..until you find the right set up... at least with a coilover system with adjustable damping system/height you will have different settings...to the point where you could find the best settings for your application..
if you find a better way let us know...
i got yellow speed coilovers by the way

Not much really 500 to 600. How did those run you? Am just really looking for a setup where i dont sag in the rear if i cant ride that low i could care less. Because i dont think ill last a long time with it.
So Bilstein hd wouldnt work right ? I just mounted my rack on the hitch and put the bike on top and it dropped almost 3 Inches in the rear.
If you know that, then you know that you'll need a conciderably stiffer coil than normal for lowering (maybe a 16 or 18k coil, compared to my skunk2 accord 10k's) and a shorter shock. I hear 1st gen DSM is a good length but require a custom bushing. ITR works too i believe. At this point your likely going to want an adjustable shock so you can adjust dampnness. Put it at very soft for daily driving and reasonably stiff for when you have the bike on the back. Look at your options and see what you like.
Based on what your needs are and what your budget is. I think you're going to have problems. You going to need a much stiffer rear than normal due to the bike, Which means your going to need a customer set up. Most of use are running full coilovers, or a custom koni/cg setup with custom spring rates and I know I paid a lot more than 500-600 bucks. I would rethink your budget, and do a little more homework on spring rates before you go any further.
I paid 500 just for my shocks. Another 340 for my coil overs. Another 80 for my extended top hats. Another 230 for my spc adjustable ball joints. Ect. It all adds up my friend.
thats what am trying to do is my homework. but i bought some cheap stagg shocks lol. i found this guy who have the lift springs and stagg shocks and he said it was a harsh ride. i mean the spc ball joints i would never get again so thats 230 bucks of lol. i had an 04 acura rl with spc ***** joints and rear camber kit. and the went to ***** with in 4 months.
alright guys and girls. am looking for some spring rate information.
