Default rainwater leaking into engine compartment at front end both sides of hood

94 Honda Accord LX, 2.2 liter, 4 cylinder, 5 speed manual with AC, no
antilock brakes, 4 door sedan

Recently found water after washed the car with outdoor hose water leaked into engine compartment at front most area on both drivers and passenger side. I imagine rainwater will be doing the same thing in the future.

On the passenger side this water goes onto cover for the air filter and some into battery holder, and on drivers side leaks down in front around power steering fluid container where there are some components and electrical wires for aftermarket alarm system in my Honda.

The drain holes for rain water up by the windshield are open and work, but some water it seems gets past these drain holes and instead goes down the groove along edge of the hood and some of that water leaks into these areas I described above.

My question is this a common problem for 94 Honda Accords and anything that can be done to stop this problem ??? I do not want make any modification to divert rainwater near the front window and rainwater then could to get into other critical areas of the engine compartment such as the fuse box which is on the passenger side near the front window nor the electrical components near drivers side front window. What if anything can and should I do on this problem ???

The hood does not have a weather tight seal all around, there is a seal at the cowl, but that is to prevent any engine bay emissions from entering the HVAC intake at the cowl.
Water will enter the engine compartment through the gaps at the sides and front. If water is entering the air intake tract, there is a seal issue with the induction system.

i have a similar problem.. '90 coupe, but when it is raining pretty hard outside i get rain water dripping from what seems "behind/on top" of the glove box...it drips right onto the corner where the slant of the firwall/floor comes down to meet flat floor pan..could this just be a seal issue around the windshield?

Have you checked your cowl drains? If they are plugged the water will back up and leak into the cabin.

On the 95 there is a tube that runs down from the cowl area, clear/yellow in color, IIRC that is the cowls drain. Don't know what it looks like or where it is on the 90-93. If that tube becomes clogged the water cannot drain out and will back fill into the cabin.
Check under your car on the passenger side for this drain.

My problem not the same as Paintball, and I ask him and others responding to his problem and their responses to his problem to move to their own thread and not to hijack mine with his different problem.

If anyone else has suggestion on how to solve my problem of rainwater
dripping into engine compartment in the front part of the engine compartment on both the drivers and passenger side please do so here on
my thread.

Thanks
