what IS a type R? what do I own?
okay so, im honestly not a very informed person in the honda world.
i have my 94gsr swapped typeR, suspension, tranny and motor, sprayed white (was teal)
ive done a little bit engine wise but id like to make this car a real runner at the track(drag)
what exactly IS the type r? im talking about bottom end, and the reason why i ask this is...
going to build a bottom end during the winter, is any b18 bottom end the same??? throw away the pistons and rods and what exactly is so special about a type R bottom end??
my setup now...
bone stock, 50trim on 6psi made 275/200 on my buddys mustang dyno,i only let her get tuned to 7500 cause im a rev *****.
12:1 1 A/F ratio thru range, oh yea, cause im a fuel ***** too. hahah
i was a little nervous of blowing it up considering it has like 90K on it and 10.6:1cr with only 93oct.

So Ill give you run down on some spec's to help you with your build.
Your best bet is to post this in Forced Induction https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced-induction-16/
OK B18a/b 81mm bore (LS) and B20 84mm bore (CRV) stroke is 89 mm on both
B18C1(gsr) B18C5 (type-r) bore 81mm both stroke 87.2 mm
If you want CR and such look on the link below.
Plenty of info if you search and on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_B_engine

What is the Type R? It's model line from Honda that was designed with racing in mind. The ITR / Integra Type R and others embodied this statement.
From the limited information and pictures here I can't speak on what you own. What does your block engine code read? What does you head stamp read?
To jump topics, you mention building the motor. From the limited conversation here it sounds like the forced induction forum is going to be better at answering some of your motor build questions. I can't speak on whether or not the internal rods/etc. of your motor (if ITR) will handle your build plans well.

thanks guys, block is b18c5 and matching head, car comes from a friend who had to move but i know the history of it at least. i got it and changed some things, plus added the turbo setup i had laying around in my garage.
i will look at the given links and post in forced induction!
but now, for this thread, onto something also discussed!
my wheels. what the hell are they? are they aftermarket?
ive been looking for something nice to stick on there, something with a good offset(15in) that i can pop some mildly stretched tire like 2in out of the fender wells... not looking to go lower by any means, other than what the wheel/tire combo will assist. my downpipe is low enough already lol

AS far as the bottom end without the rods & pistons, the only difference is the Type R block has:
- Heavier crankshaft (bigger counterweights)
- Different crank damper to match crank (accessory pulley)
- A big transmission-to-block brace
