Default 2000 Type R looking to buy need some advice

I have an opportunity to buy a 2000 ITR blk rebuilt title 4 lug no wing. Ls-T with ebay stule
Kit, ls tranny it has 90k on the body,ls front seats door panels arm rest dash panels. It does have the ITR cluster and rear seats. I am wondering if anyone on here would know the car or can tell me some history on it as I have the vin and a bunch of pics. Maybe the badge number or anything at all. Being what it is what would you pay for it? what is it worth as is and with it back to factory condition. I wasnt looking to get one with a rebuilt title and also missing parts to be a true ITR but since I might be able to get it for a good price I think it might be worth it to bring it back to life. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What's the badge number? And PM the VIN to "Doespike." Are you sure it's a real R? If the VIN doesn't start with: JH4DC231, then don't bother.

To bring it back with all ITR parts is pretty costly. You can find ITR's in 9k range with some milage. Only way It would be worth for you to bring this ITR back is if you get it for dirt cheap.

As someone who has restored an ITR shell, this statement is correct. The salvage title is also huge here. The value of the car will always be less than that of a clean title car. It is an automatic turn off for most buyers. Of those still interested, they will be unable to finance the vehicle purchase. Also, some insurance companies won't put full coverage on a salvage title vehicle.

In the end you are paying more in both money, time, and labor to build a running car. It was a great experience, but I could have had a running car ~2 years earlier for less cash than what I have in my restore project. It's just not worth it with the current costs of these cars.

with knowing what it needs. What would be a reasonable amount to pay for it. If I get it for the right price I'm gonna jump on it and if not I'm gonna have to wait just a couple more weeks for me to have the extra $$ to buy one in that range or more. I'm waiting for my 07 escalade to sell unless anyone is looking to trade plus cash on their end

Anything more than 4 grand is not worth it. Maybe even 3500.

For what he listed I can agree it's worth a little more over $4k otherwise you might as well buy a GSR.

Other than the name "ITR" and the prestige some give them, if you aren't tracking, there really isn't much sense in paying the extra for one. A JDM ITR swap in a cheaper car will probably save you. in the long run.
