Default 89 civic Si-cooling fan does not come on ...

I'm having two problems right now ,

1) The A/C is not as cold as before ( just put in the whole can of R134a .. Yes I already converted to 134) but let's just leave this alone for now .

2) Ok when you guys turn on the AC the both two fans have to come on at the same time right ? I see that my condenser fan is working fine but the not the cooling fan . The car is parked for like 15 mins with the 94 degree outside and I'm not sure why its not come on ? I have read a few threads here in our forums and they were mentioned about to check the thermoswitch ( jumper at the plug) sure I can do that and I will do it tomorrow . What about the relay ? How do I check that and where is it located at? I am not talking about the condenser relay but the cooling one . Anyone have any idea?

Thanks in advance!

You should have the pressure checked on your AC lines rather than just tossing cans of refrigerant at it. Too much is not a good thing.

Try hooking your cooling fan directly to the battery and see if the fan even works.

Report back with results when you have jumped the connector to the fan switch. If the fan works, but jumping the switch does not, then we can talk relay.

Thanks for the input 4drEF . For the AC line , I prolly have to vaccum/empty it out then recharge the whole thing . I feel like it has air in it .

Cooling fan : just went outside to look for the switch so I can jump but no where to be seen . Where is it located at ? I checked at the thermal housing n didn't see it .

Update : I still don't see the thermoswitch therefore I just connected them straight to the battery , the result is the fan is still good. Now it's either the switch or the relay could be one of them . Where are they located at guys?

Ok I found the temp sensor now but when I got them jumped ( see pics below) with the key on position II ..the fan was not working ??? Am I doing something wrong ? Remember I already test the fan earlier by connecting them directly to the battery and it was ruining . So what is my next step then ?

94EG ,

Thanks for the diagram but how do check that ? Ohm meter ?

Ok just came out there and checked I only see two of them hanging behind the headlights and one laying near the airfilter intake .

I believe the one laying near your air filter is for the radiator fan, the ones hanging by the headlight are for your AC fan and AC clutch I believe.

That's it . The fan is working now . It IS the RELAY that cause it . You were right 24TEN the one laying near air filter is the relay for cooling fan . Anyways , for next time if anyone have this of Problem I suggest check ur relay first . Why ? Because it's easy and a quick fix rather than spend 5 hrs just to figure it out . I'm not saying u don't have to check the motor fan or the switch but just check the relay first before go to there . Here is a pic that showing the bad one ( left ) and the good one ( right / $21 at Autozone) . Again , thanks for the ppls that chime in . I appreciate it .

The relay shouldn't be hanging.
Many relays use the mounting tab as ground.

I read your post and I am having the issue of the fan not turning on. I checked the relay per this post, and found it worked as described. I checked the other end and found that on the plug that has power where the A C comes in, instead of where it should be, which is the C D. How could this happen. It worked fine before I replaced the radiator, now it is opposite.
