I'm pretty confused on whats going on. I have a JDM B16a and I'm not sure if its an ODB-0 or ODB-1, but the ecu that I got with the motor is a p72-a04. It plugs into the harness and the other side plugs into everything else okay as well. I know that the ECU is an USDM ODB-2 4th generation out of a gsr.

My question is, is this okay to run and how can I tell if my engines an ODB-0 or ODB-1

I already have that saved. Thats how I found out that I have an ODB-2 ECU but i can't figure out what ODB my engine is. They only made the JDM B16a as an ODB-0 and an ODB-1

 

Where did you get the engine from? Post pics if you have to.

 

Identify it by figuring out which distributor you're using. Post a picture of the two-plug harness that connects to it.

 

I bought the engine from some guy. He gave me the ECU and wiring harness with it. The motor didn't come with a distributor, injectors. Sorry I'm new to Honda-tech so I don't know how to post pics yet, but here is the serial number to the engine. 5412913 if that helps at all.

thanks for the help. Do u guys think its fine to run it like that, because i'm pretty sure that the guy I got it off of was running with that set up.

 

i personally never trust previous owners 100%. the year stamping on the head is just that, only to the head.for gen ofthe motor im almost positive it goes by serial #.

start with this:
what year is the car its going into? which model (dx, ex, lx)?

if you post a pic of the harness, from this we can tell what year its from and if it will work
