Default Question on TL rims???

I'm looking to buy my wife a TL type-s. The only ones in my price range are the early 2000 models. The only problem i'm having with getting her to like it are the rims. She doesn't like the rims on the models i showed her but when i showed her the later models she liked them. Question is if I go ahead and buy an earlier model TL will it be possible to switch out some rims from a newer model? I'm not sure exactly what year it was she liked but they look totally different from the early 2000 selection. Also would these rims also fit an early 2000 RL?

I'm assuming pre 2002-2003 TL-s. The bolt patterns should all be the same. The RL rims should fit. I would look up more on this on acurazine.com

Lug patterns are all the same, the wheels should fit, but I can't say for sure how well because newer cars tend to have bigger/wider wheels.

Be careful with that model of TL though because they've been known to have transmission problems.

He's right, specifically the '01-'03 models. There was a recall on them back in '04, but not everybody went to have it corrected. If you find one in those years that you like, get the VIN and ask your local Acura dealer to see if it was fixed. Sorry if this is off topic...

Stock rim size for the 2G TL's was 17x6.5 +55 (at least for the 03 Type-S). If you find a rim you like in similar size, you're pretty much guaranteed it'll fit.

The 09 TL switched to 5x120 bolt pattern and not sure exactly but the RL started earlier.

The TL started with TPMS in 06 and newer vehicles as well which you won't need.

I use the split spoke off of a 2006 on my 02 TL-S for winter wheels. They work great with no rubbing the tread section width are 235's. It would be very difficult to go any wider, I don't think I could even get chains to fit. The tires I took off of them were 245/45/17 and they were in the same boat.
Be careful when buying these cars, THE TRANSMISSIONS STINK!!!
I have had since new and we are on our THIRD trans. The dealer helped us out with the last one so it only cost us $3,000.
Still Love the car and it's at 207,000!!!
