Loss of power, weird idle, relay clicking? Mpfi conversion problems
Sorry, I feel like I've been asking a lot of questions lately, but I honestly don't get much help, and I've searched the forums on this but only found bits and pieces.
I just did a dpfi to obd0 mpfi conversion on my DX hatch. When I got it started after a few tries this last time everything seemed ok at first. It seemed like it was idling good while cold but after the car was fully warmed up it started almost dying every few seconds and then revving back to life. The CEL came on when it did that and went off when it revved back up.
I tried taking a test drive and the car had no power at all. It sounded like a Subaru. While driving it the CEL would come on and I heard the main relay clicking too. I don't have any codes from the ECU either :/
Sorry for the wall of info but I'm trying to give you all a good description of whats happening. Any ideas?

you need to verify your distributor wiring for sure.
check the grounds. you have 3! valve cover, transmission, thermostat housing.
Give me a good description of what you did for the conversion too. injector wiring and distributor wise. it's been a while since i did it, but i'll try and help.

Valve cover and T-stat grounds are connected, where is the tranny one?
I followed the mpfi conversion guides for the wiring. Matched up wires on the dizzy plug and ran the extra two from the B/G and B/Y wires to the ECU. Same with the injectors, matched the other two up with the proper wires and checked that it was connected. Resistor box is wired too.
I replaced the distributor twice because the first reman I got was bad and gave me a code 9 if that's any useful info.

are you still getting code 9? it's common to get that, since the blue yellow and blue green wires get mixed up often. i'm throwing code 9 still, but i don't get a weird idle. did you switch the TPS wires around?
No, the code 9 went away after replacing the 1st reman distributor. My TPS wires are switched around like they should be.
