Default "Feleray Drempt" memorial build/restoration

So to start this off my name is Julian and just recently got stationed in Hurlburt Field, FL. Ive had my hatch for about 3 years now and 2 years of having it its probably sat in my garage. I purchased it from a old couple for about $2,500 and it was "MINT" pics.............

***Im going to be skipping alot so I can get to the build but if you want to see the process of what went on between getting the car and the current surgery its under going let me know.

After about a year I replaced it with a complete OEM built D16z6 along with some bolt-ons.

The motor was babied as it was my DD to school and work but I wanted more so I did a B18c GsR swap I got from a good friend.

This is also how the car sat just before going under the knife except...

New Fenders
New Hood
All trim pieces painted with OEM black trim paint
(I have pics of the process just let me know if interested in seeing)

Ok now for the build process....

Out with the old

My buddy Allen got a new camera and went picture crazy!

Shes OUT!

Just waiting for the new heart

Now for the build NA Lsv

Start off with the head
  • My original JDM GSR head
  1. Port and polished
  2. 3-Angle valve job
  3. Port matched

*Machine work credit goes to USA machine.

Valve cover eye candy once the head is assembled

*Airbrush credit goes to Orlando Di

  • Goodies for the head
  1. Skunk2 PRo II cams and complete valvetrain
  2. ARP head studs

  • Fuel
  1. AEM FPR (BWR FPR guage)
  2. AEM fuel rail
  3. Bosch CCT 550cc injectors
  4. 255 Walbro fuel pump kit

All put together

  • Your typical bolt ons
  1. PLM Toda rep header
  2. PLM test pipe
  3. Skunk2 intake manifold
  4. Skunk2 70mm throttlebody
  5. PWJDM intake (Flashy) so switching it out to AEM cold air intake
  6. Greddy spectrum elite full 2.5" exhaust

Now the block
  • Ls block bored to 85mm and AEBs sleeved

*Was told it was a 84mm bore ended getting pistons at 84mm only to find out it was actually a 85mm bore so having to see if Realstreetperformance will switch them out for me for a set of 85mm.

**Once again went with USA machine to get block decked, honed, hot tanked, crank micro polished and balanced just waiting to get it back.

Block goodies
  1. Wiesco 84mm 11:5.1 pistons (switching to 85mm)
  2. Eagle rods with ARP conneting bolts
  3. Clevite full racing bearings
  4. ARP bolts
  5. Oil cooler from my GSR

S80 LSD transmission

Need to order
  • Toda timing belt
  • OEM water pump
  • OEM oil pump
  • OEM valve cover gasket kit
  • Skunk2 throttlebody gasket
  • Hondata thermal intake manifold gasket
  • Cometic 85mm head gasket
  • Clutch
  • Energy shifter bushings
  • Throwout bearing

Ill update when possible.....

Well visited home and decided to mess with the hatch a little bit.....

Dyed carpet black

Purchased a set of mint recaros

Pics......

Ill start off with the recaros I picked up today for a hell of a price.

All they needed was a good steam cleaning =]

Carpet process

4 x bottles of Rit dye
2 x bottles of scotch guard
1 x bottle of uv protectant
1 x tub
1 x gloves

Filling tub with "HOT" water

mixed dye while being filled

Carpet pulled

Carpet put in tub scrubed for 30mins

Put some weights on top to keep carpet submerged letting set for 4hrs
