Default 95 Civic EX on 96 Spec ITR 4x114

My set up started out as stock 95 Civic Ex brakes all the way around. I installed the ITR 4x114 conv. thinking it would be a bolt on and go process...

The first thing I ran into was the rear brake lines. No problem, got them from a local salvage yard. I bled my brakes and it wouldn't hold pressure after I started the car. I got my hands on a 1" master cylinder and booster from a 00 GSR Integra. My only problem was the my stock brake lines wouldn't bolt right up so I purchased a small amount of 3/8 steel braided line and hooked it up to my stock lines to simply extend it. My brakes held the pressure fine and worked decent and i bled them.

After driving 150-250 miles I swapped wheels and noticed my rotors having very uneven wear. It braked fine but it bothered me so I bought 94 Si Prelude rotors and 96 Integra Pads with hardware kit for the front. Everything fit and installed perfect. Now it's like my brakes are sticking. The pedal feels spongy but even with the pedal all the way up it feels if I have my brakes engaged.

If you have any info or help please let me know,

You might have a caliper seized so that the pad is dragging on the rotor. this has less to do with the actual swap and more to do with maintenance on used parts like calipers, pads, rotors, lines. Make sure all the pistons (front and rear) retract fully.

Okay, thanks a lot for the information. I was thinking it might have something to do with the caliper. I just found it different that it did it identically the same on both front rotors. I'm about to post a picture of the rotor.

I got my brakes working again. First I tried my old pads on my new rotors, it didn't change anything. Then I put my old rotors on and my brakes were fine. I took the old rotors off and compared them to my new ones again. The 94 Si Prelude non vtec rotors were just a little bit wider on the rear section. I used my old rotors and new pads and my brakes work great. Instead of buying rotors from fastbrakes.com I think I'm just going to get mine turned. Hope this helps someone out in the future.
