Simple Green does a decent driveway job of getting heavy gunk off.
Then engine degreaser and a pressure was.
Temporary shine with a few coats of Armor All.

Sorry I didnt specify, I just used purple power concrete oil and grease remover under the hood and after getting the grime and gunk off it seems as though the Purple Power stuff made all of the aluminum look old and brittle. Like a white dusty looking coating. I need something to bring back the "Wet" look to the aluminum parts.

It says right on the bottle of purple power that it's NOT for aluminum. You've cause a reaction in the metal and ruined the surface finish. I believe it eats away the natural anodized (alum-oxide) surface coating and allows the raw alloy to corrode very rapidly (turns white & chunky). White & powdery it shall stay unless you sand or refinish.

I used it to clean some sunroof parts in my old CRX. I let one of the pieces sit too long and it did the same thing. The rest of the parts only got minor exposure to the chemicals and they were okay.

Sorry man.

Okay now I see. I have purple power driveway cleaner. IT says to keep away from Aluminum. The regular purple power de-greaser does not. Perhaps you should contact purple power about your problem. To see what they say.

I think you can use that old-school aluminum wheel cleaner that was for the aluminum wheels that didn't have a coating, to get it back to an aluminum look.

I don't think I have that bottle any more. I chucked most of my nasty chemicals when I moved last year. Sorry. I bought the stuff over 4 years ago from Autozone and I only "remember" it saying that on the back. If you look at the MSDS on that website, it says to keep away from aluminum somewhere on it. But I can't find any pictures of the labels. I suggest you complain to them and see what happens. Maybe they can recommend you a product.

Personally I've always wanted to try a product called "Aluminum Jelly" that is now being sold with a Loctite label. I can't seem to find much on it though. It's a jelly paste you brush on to brighten aluminum. I assume it's just a gentle acid. This was one of the only references I've seen (search Jelly on this page):

For less than $7 shipped on amazon, it might be worth a try.

To me that just sounds like it's wetting the white corrosion and making it less visible. Still worth a shot.

There is another spray on product called Flitz Aluminum Pre-Cleaner. It's supposed to break up that white corrosion and stains. Look it up, there's a few videos and reviews.
