What the heck just happened?
Was doing a battery relocate, and got it all hooked up with new wire, fuse, etc. Hooked it up and the ENTIRE system flipped out. Thinking there might be a drain or something somewhere, because only certain systems can run at a time. Aka, you push on the brakes, the e-brake light comes on, and the temp gauge goes all the way up. Starter turns, but now the engine won't start. Checked all the fuses in the engine bay and under the dash and they all look good. I have no idea what just happened...
ya thats what i was thinking. I check it though, and its there. But these other symptoms are weird. What could be bad that the gauges flip and random lights come on?
A bad ground. My trans ground was loose after I swapped my motor in a rush. Tach was jumpy and temp gauge went haywire. Car also bucked around in low rpm. Especially on a battery relocate, make sure your new ground is very well done. Wouldn't hurt to check your other grounds to make sure they are okay too.
sweet thanks! Ya, so I let it sit, put in a power block with 80 amp fuse, and took out the 60 amp amplifier fuse, and it started right up
so happy day here. On an off note though, is it ok with the 80 amp fuse? Or will the starter need more? Just worried about the other electronics in the car, and not starting the whole thing on fire...
