Default 77 Civic engine blowup

Hi, new to the forum. Just returning to classic hondas after a 25 year venture into american cars. I picked up a 77 civic with a 1300 EN1 engine and 5 spd, turbocharged. It had been sitting for many years. Drove it about 10 Km and stuffed a connecting rod through the block I am wondering which engines will fit simply into this little beast. I don't want to get in too deep $ or work wise.

Is your car a CVCC or 1200 model? If it's a CVCC, you can drop in an EK1 engine, which is a first gen Accord one. It's pretty much a bolt-in job with a few minor tweaks. My CVCC has the Accord engine and this is the more popular swap because of its ease. There are others on here who can chime with more info than I.

It is a 1200. The front rad support has been modified to give better clearance in front of the engine for the intercooler and rad, but the stock grill is still in place.

I figured out what happened. The wastegate was stuck, I guess I didn't pay enough attention to the boost guage. Too busy looking at the tach trying not to over rev it.

Does the exhaust and intake bolt up from the EK1. I have a custom header for the turbo and a fuel injection system on the car.

I believe they only bolt up to the CVCC model.
