Default Help with ecu suggestion.

Hello, I recently bought a LS-V with b18 block gsr head and ls transmission. Has conversion kit but I dont feel vtec like it should. I have been told by many it is not hitting like it's supposed to. It is running a p28 ecu right now. Would that be a problem?
Also would the fuel mapping be different? I am thinking about chipping this ecu so that it is right since p72 are more expensive than a chip.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you're running a non-chipped P28 then you will have problems. That ECU is for an SOHC 1.6 and you're using it on a DOHC 1.8. You should probably not drive your car until you chip/tune the ECU.

But yeah, buy a chip kit and basemap for your setup from Xenocron or Phearable before you drive that car again. Might also want to check the plugs to see if it has been leaning out. The stock P28 will not provide enough fuel for your setup.

Alright I'll check them next time i'm home. Possibly swap them out after I get the chip in and see how that compares. Thanks again.
