Where to Buy Transmission Syncros?
First off I will explain my issue:
When the car is cold and I am normally driving around town, when i go to shift from 4th into 5th I get a grind. I can shift while it's cold at around 40mph and it does not grind, any higher and it does. When the car is warmed up shifting from 4th to 5th can be done at 55mph without grind, any faster then that and it grinds. Also if I double clutch (clutch in, put in neutral, let rpms drop to idle, clutch back in and shift into 5th) there is no grind, and that does not matter hot or cold. So this is why I am trying to find syncros. Also should I replace all of them or just 5th gear syncro? It shifts smooth 1st-4th, it's just 4th to 5th that gives me these issues. The vehicls has 126k. But I have not been able to source syncros thus far. I have searched and found nothing. I have contatcted syncrotech and gearspeed and I am waiting response. Any help would help appreciated. I also found what looks to be whe whole kit on hondaautoparts.com (http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...5=MT+MAINSHAFT)
for $110, would that be my best bet?

Synchrotech will get you straight
Probably going to need more than just rings.. 126k is pretty low to have a grind from normal wear

try changing the atf first! may be ue synchromesh(pennzoil) ive seen alot of civics w/ tranny issues
got it fixed by using synchromesh, double drain it just to be sure, like the process when changing atf
on auto tranny....
HTH, good luck!!

Guess my post didn't go through... Long story short, I tried ramming from 4th into 5th without clutching a couple of times, and since that night I beleive this has happened. Still possible fluid would help resolve this?
