What is needed to have the msd 2 step, can I just buy the 60 buck module?
I'm interested in being able to hold my rpms for the launch, and saw that the 2 step module is about 60 bucks retail....now what else do I need to buy to make this work? thanks.
a MSD 6AL ignition system is needed. The 2 step plugs into the chip slot on the 6AL.
Then you add your high limit/low limit chips.
Also a good place to add the MSD Launch Control.

See, I was thinking about that and instead of running the wireto the module couldn't you cut the plug end off and then splice the wire into the rpm signal wire...? I am pretty sure it should work... What do you think?
Anythoughts on this... I am interested in this but I don't want the ignition or have to pay all the rest of the money for the ignition...
Thanks,
Sean C.

a 2 step module does not work like that. basically its an rpm activated relay that switches between two rev limits, which is dictated by the pill in the two step and the pill in the 6al.
if you want stock ignition, how are you able to set up something like this for launching?
you can't basically. with a hondata theres a two-step option, but i don't *think* it works the same way as the msd, which features a soft rev limiter by dropping spark and not fuel.
