My son has a 2004 automatic ex Accord, for starters. Recently its been slipping? I'll try to describe. When driving, the transition from first gear to second is rough. Depending on how fast im accelerating, there is a little kick. There's like a half a second delay when the car kicks into second gear. After second, I have smooth shifting. The car has been without a dipstick (transmission fluid) for quite some time now but I tested it with another dipstick and the levels seem okay. I'm not sure if this is a sign of imminent transmission failure or maybe something else.

Had a mechanic look at it and he told me something along the lines of the TCS light (which is on constantly) being the problem and I had to clean/replace one of the sensors, or something about a transmission oil sensor problem? I dont know. I spoke to my uncle who's worked on cars before and he said he doesnt know, but it could help to drain the transmission fluid and then fill it up again 3 times. I dont know what to do. Im hoping its not a transmission failure. I dont have warranty on the car but I was thinking maybe just take it straight to Honda and have them tell me what it is. Any ideas before I do that? Any help is helpful.
