im getting a code 17 for vss in my 95 coupe. has a b20v with a gsr trans! my questions is can i just switch out the sensor on the top of the vss? and if so what sensor do i need like what car can it come off and will fit? i need to solve this problem asap so any help would be appreciated greatly! thanks in advanced honda-tech crew
Code 17 does not necessarily mean the VSS sensor is bad. Other possibilities are a bad VSS plug, VSS wires, or even a bad ECU. Therefore, you need to do electrical tests prior to replacing any parts.
The VSS sits atop the transmission and has a 3P (three wires) connector.
