91 Accord will not start on 1st key turn
I've got a '91 accord with the 2.2L and a 5 speed, ive been noticing that when i hop in and start the car it will just crank for the 1st key turn, i could let it crank for a minute if i wanted it to, but it never fails as soon as i let off the key and turn in the 2nd time it fires right up. Any ideas as to what may cause this?
No one has any idea as to what might be the issue. It's a 100% stock car nothing crazy just doesn't start on first turn. The fuel pump is operating.
if it were me, i would first drop down the rear seat to hear the fuel pump better. then turn the key to "ON" and listen for the pump to kick on. next, turn it back to "OFF" wait a few seconds, then repeat like 10 to 20 times. if there is one time where it doesn't turn on, then that's a problem. it could potentially be a main relay which is common, or maybe less common the connector in the trunk to the fuel pump/level sender. I had a 91 that would not start, and i unplugged the connector and plugged it back in and it worked....for a long time. Then it happened once more. Remembering before, i disconnected and reconnected the connector and it fixed it once more. never had another issue and eventually got rid of the car.
