Changed clutch now car overheats
so i know changing the clutch isnt why its over heating. when changing it all that was removed was the tranns no coolant hoses, there was a jack under the motor, the motor was jacked up hight then it should of been, dont know if that would do anything(it was at an angle flywheel side up). The car took fooooorever to warm up, then by time i got to the freeway it warmed up but as i got on it started to over heat. then id let off the gas and it would go down. the car has never ever over heated, ive driven for 2 hours straight temp doesnt change, even when im racing. so im thinking its a thermostat which im gonna change tomorrow. Does anyone have any other ideas just incase changing the thermo stat doesnt help.
by the way its a ZC sohc(d16a6). only after market part is the intake. and nothing else was changed when changing the clutch.

A few of us have been having over heating issues here latley, espiecially with the higher temps every where. Try the termo as stated above and is the radiator fan kicking on? Mine was not turning on and after swapping out the fan switch I was back in business.
changed the thermo and its still over heating, and the fan does turn on. coolant is flowing, bottom and top hose are hot. the only thing wrong with the car is its missing a bolt on the down pipe, which is under the intake mani and temp sensor. could this cause the over heating?
