Default Disable antenna

What is the simplest way to disable the antenna? That thing is huge and I never listen to the radio.

Thanks

If you are talking about the retractable OEM type antenna, there is a "power antenna wire" thet I believe is often brown or brown with white stripe at the radio rear. That wire is often blue on an after market harness. Disconnect the wire. You may also find it at the antenna and disconnect. Better is to find the wire and cut and splice in switch so that your antenna works when you flip a switch, and the headunit is on, and otherwise stays down. I listen to CD or IPOD and leave the antenna down unless I want radio.

Yes the retractable OEM antenna. I would just like it to stay down, that's it.

Cut the power antenna line and splice in a length of line and a switch. I mounted the switch in one of the center console cutouts. My antenna is only up whth the headunit powered up and the switch is on. It was very simple to wire in by pulling the head unit out. You can do it from the rear, at the antenna, but then you have to run wire back to the front.

I just pulled the inside quarter panel back and unpluged the connector. Mine got stuck in the up position and once I got it down I disconnected the connector. The radio and everything still works.
