cut off mileage for used honda??
been looking at buying a "new to me" honda and was wondering what you guys thought is the cut off point for mileage is.
im looking at the 96-2000 year bracket 5 speeds but im not sure what problems come about and at what mileages.
the next one im thinking about calling has 175k "98 ex coupe" i was trying to stay under 150k miles but thats preaty hard to do for less than 3200 bucks.

I've seen engines with 200k miles that are in better shape than some with 60k miles because of how they're treated daily. If I were you, I'd be more concerned about how clean the car is, service records, if it looks like it was taken care of rather than mileage.
My Toyota has 170k miles on it, I just got 34mpg with the A/C on for the last 2 weeks, it's 22 years old and it runs like a freaking dream. If you ever have any questions about a car, have them take it to a good certified shop and get them to look it over. Mileage scares people way more than it should, it's not the 1950s anymore.
Edit: And don't buy a modified car (with an exhaust, intake, or any of that crap).

Don't concern yourself with mileage so much like everyone else is saying. You can find a great car with high miles that runs like a dream. If you really want a fresh engine then just buy a swap and have it built on the side or install it as is. Most create engines come with 30k miles.
Just make sure the body is in good condition and that the title hasn't been rebuilt.
