Mini me issues
Whats up guys. Sorry to start another thread but this is in reference to another part of the project. Just got the new vtec d16z6 head in on the a6 block, new gaskets, bolts, etc. Everything hooked up good. Ran comp. test, everything good, has 130+psi on each cylinder. Got fuel, and spark... Timed right and everything. Started it up, but its gnarly. Clouds of white smoke out the back, idles at 1900, revs only to 3500. Tried adjusting the dizzy(had it at default/middle), no go, except for set idle from 2000 to 1900. Possibilities that come to mind: screwed up ignition timing/bad dizzy, pcv valve not hooked up/in right, or less likely but the things overheating like a ****. Reason I say that is cause I got a coolant leak somewhere, and considered the possibility. Hook me up if you have any insight...
Before we can help you, you should check out the things you listed. From what you said, I'd bet you can sort this problem. If not, we are happy to help.
okee doek. Got the new head all sealed down, starts up good, no coolant leaking or burning, so its a good day. Also the idle is sitting back where it belongs. Problem at hand: will not rev over 3500rpms! After doing a little research, wondering if this could be a TPS issue? Also got a CEL goin down. Was going to plug the jumper to see what kind of code its throwing, but cant find the 2p service connector(theoretically under passenger dash...). Its an 88' rex, so idk if thats right..? Anyway, any tips/tricks are appreciated...
