Air Conditioning Kit / Parts List.. anyone selling one
It's been a while!
Once again I've got to turn to the most epic resource of the interwebz: the ITR owners on this board.
I've got a 97 R that I've had for ages. I used to track it so it doesn't make the greatest DD (no AC/interior etc.) We just had our first baby and my wife is wanting to get another daily driver but I just can't find anything that I would replace this car with. It's way too reliable, too cheap to own, and too much damn fun to drive. I've decided to resurrect my comrade and make it more streetable, starting with installing AC.
I did some pretty rigorous searching for install instructions and/or a parts list. I found some long lost links to the we-todd site that is MIA. Apparently there was a .pdf with install instructions from Acura lingering about.

https://honda-tech.com/forums/acura-integra-type-r-8/those-you-who-wanted-c-installation-removal-instructions-here-you-go-164060/
I'm hoping that some of the OGs still have this stashed away on their hard drives somewheres... Anyone?
I do own a helms manual and have been browsing it to see what I can find. I should be able to compile a solid list of parts, but as far as installation instructions there isn't much to be found. Also I remember reading that the ITR AC differs from the std. Integra AC? The main section of the Helms manual gives reference to GSR/LS Integras. My Type R supplement doesn't really cover this as it was not a standard option on my model year. Anyone have any knowledge of this.
From what I could see the WTB/FS thread here is closed. So: I am actively looking for a complete ITR AC kit. If ANYONE has one for sale, please drop me an IM.
I know several owners made reference to using Baranco (Len) as they had a complete OEM kit for sale. I haven't seen/heard form Len in ages.. Is there another dealer resource on this board that people are using?
At the end of this I hope to have a full parts list and step by step write up posted in this thread.. We'll see how this goes. If anyone has any experience with this please post up any advice/info you have.
Thanks everyone in advance! It's good to be back.

97 RS oem full A/C kit still avail P#
80000-ST7-A11 dealer cost is
$495
only differance from gs, ls gsr, and ITR is the pulley size, compressor everything is exactly the same and will work on ITR. May just need a different size belt.
If you wanting the Kit LMK I can get you a good deal on it and ship it to you

a 97 itr is p73-a02. i thought that ecu wasn't able to trigger AC. you could always use jdm p73-003 i suppose.
i haven't researched it too close but i thought there was some ac issue. also thought the gsr and itr had the same ac system. while the itr and gsr have different crank pulley part numbers, they look identical. same goes for the ac pumps. if there is any difference it's awful slight as i've never noticed it even with the pumps sitting next to each other

I dont think there is any differance in ECU's The A/C kit would come with one is that were the case
Thanks guys.
I know there are 97s out there with A/C installed by the dealer. Any 97 owners out here with AC? Can you possibly check your ECU P/N?

I did some more searching. Found some ITR specific P/Ns:
The correct part number for the 1997 Type R Aircon kit is:
80000-ST7-A50. The Integra RS kit is 80000-ST7-A11.
The 1998 Type R (US model) and 2000-2001 Canadian-spec Type R Aircon kit is different:
80000-ST7-A52
I can't find the 97 kit on any of the OEM websites. The 98 kit is available though. Anyone have any idea if the 98 kit will still work?

no reason why not, and install instuctions say nothing with ECU, maybe underdash plug is different?
personally thing the RS kit is one to go with

That part shows up on OEMAcuraParts.com, but looks like it was replaced by A500 which is discontinued. I would go with 94rs-turbo's offer.
Though the ABS system in the R would be different than the RS non ABS lines. The RS only has one hard line running through that area. Be sure there are no problems with the RS AC hard-lines and your many many ITR Brake lines running through the same area. The ABS system was even different on the GSR & LS compared to the R. Unless you've ditched ABS.

Thanks everyone.
I sprung for the 98 ITR Kit. Hopefully it accounts for the difference in ABS lines.. I'm hoping they discontinued the 97 kit because the 98 kit is identical.. We'll find out though.
I'll post up details of exactly what comes with the kit for other owners reference. I can only find an assembly drawing which looks like it's missing the interior dash button and potentially the wire harness. Also it does not appear to include the belt for the compressor. I ordered these items also.

Yah i am curious too. Been thinking about putting AC back in the car. 100 degree track days will do that to you.
Too bad I got a whole ac kit for sale if anyone needs one, all the ac parts of my 98gsr and compressor from my type r, message me if anyone needs ill try to make a post with all the parts and pics of them
If anyone is needs just the evaporator & box (A/C unit as described in the parts listings) that bolts up after the blower, I've got one hibernating in my parents basement... waiting to see some action again some day.... one day...
From a '97 ITR, dealer installed option.

I got the kit. It was missing a bunch of parts. Stuff that was shown in the diagram. The dealer was good about me shipping the missing items.
I just got some free time to dig into the install today.. It looks like I have the wrong condensor. Damnit!
