I don't think so. It could come off and hit you in the face or something. My region is pretty strict about ANYTHING that could potentially come loose in the cabin.

Why would you want that on your windshield though? Sure, you can measure real-time G's(or an approximation), but are you seriously thinking you're going to be staring at your G-Tech while trying to go around the course? Sounds like a easy way to DNF... or intimately meet a light pole.

well its nice cuz it records up to an hour....and i can view it later on my computer....

mostly i'd use it to record....and use the shift light....the way the suction works....it seems like it would be extra tight.....i haven't purchased it yet...

If you it so much and want to have it on during an auto-x, just find a better/more rigid place to mount it. That would be one solution anyhow. Until then, I'd leave it off.

I don't see why it wouldn't be allowed if you use a tether to keep it from turning into a projectile.

I've run the Hama suction cup video camera mount at national SCCA events and the only comments I've gotten from officials is "cool." Believe me, that Hama mount with a camera is much heavier than your GTech.

I did have the camera mount fall off once. The car wasn't moving, I was still in grid.

Ahh you can record it? Sounds like some super-duper model. Better than the G-Tech's of yesteryear eh?

Alot of it would depend on who's doing Tech that day/run session, but as others have said, a tether would most likely make it ok with even the most strict Tech.

You know, between that and a Hondata datalogger ($300 ECU plus $200 for datalogging capabilities), you could have a ton of data to look at after a race.

Use industrial-strength velcro to mount it to the windshield. I did that to make a solid mount for my GTech Pro when I used to autocross with it to get g-readings. The industrial-strength stuff has really strong adhesive on it so it'll stay stuck to your windshield. The fastening material itself is HARD. You have to sortof SHOVE the two sides together to make them mesh. Once you have them pressed together, they do take a good bit of force to pry apart. Should be good for this application.
