iacv keeps going bad!!!!! (HELP).......
OK SO THIS IS THE DEAL... I have a 2000 em1 with a GSR swap in it....Car runs perfect until i start racing it, then the IACV goes bad and the car wont start unless i give it gas...i have replaced it at least 8 times in the last 4 months. i got 4 used ones 3 from advance auto parts and one brand new from the dealer. i also have changed the engine harness twice, jumper harness twice and ecu twice. as long as i drive the car and don't rag on it. it runs perfect. as soon as i get on it it goes bad....anyone ever had this issue before?????
i had this problem (code 14) for the last 3 months. check engine light would come on within 2 days of clearing codes and normal driving. had a shop owner i know use his snap on code reader and showed me the following:
ECU temp reading of 225 degree
gauge only 1/4 way up from cold
fans coming on too soon
swapped out ECT, Water temp switch and fan switch. bled the cooling system. 2 weeks later no check engine light.

Are you throwing a Code 14 or can visibly see the IACV has 'gone bad', or are you assuming it's your IACV because the car won't start?
Are you retaining your Evap Purge? If so, disconnect and see if that helps.
