Default B series crank pulley with a/c options

I have a 90 civic and am currently running a ctr pulley due to the stock crank pulley grinding into the radius rod when making turns. I'd like to put A/C back in my car but I don't really want to raise the car up. Has anyone had any luck? I saw years ago one guy used radius rods from an Accord but the thread died and no one ever said if they worked out or not. Is there an aftermarket crank pulley the deletes power steering only? I've heard of people machining down the stock pulley but that doesn't sound like a very good idea to me.

Machining down is great. Machinists will do it with precision.

There are underdrive pulleys that will fit. I found a nice aluminum one on ebay, works great on my B16 with a/c, clears the radius rod.

I contacted some of the manufactures of aftermarket pulleys and they said they would machine off the PS for a B-Series for an extra $75 bucks. Also you may want to get the underdrive option.

My question to you is, what engine, mounts, and traction bar are you using?

Thanks for the replys! I have Hasport mounts and the stock crossmember. I do not know how much clearance I have with the stock pulley and the Hasport mounts though. I got the ctr pulley when I had some no name mounts. The motor with the new mounts doesn't look like it moved much though. I'll have to look some more at underdrive pulleys, I only ones I had seen were single. Isn't there an issue with the balance of everything when machining down the pulley?

Why don't you just get Full Race traction bars? Then you don't have to worry about your pulley, and will have a better supension.

I asked the same question. They said no, but I feel like there is.

The same shop that cuts them down can balance them. For the money, you can just buy another pulley.
The full race bar does NOT help with pulley clearance. Mine was getting chewed up by the stock pulley. There are a few options for underdrive pulleys, some with a/c and PS, some without. Unorthadox, OBX and Jasma to name a few that have all the pulleys. I went with a no name similar to the OBX for about $50.
I am also running avid mounts, and denso compressor from the P72 gsr.

The reason you have clearance problems is because of the avid mounts. Since he has Hasport mounts, he should not have the same clearance issues. If you read Full Race's site it says for Hasport mounts.

Hasport & Full Race should be fine. Full Race & Avid, you need an underdrive pulley.

I machined mine down myself. Easy money, took like 2 minutes.

I'm surprised that the Hasport mounts would give more pulley clearance, that's good to know. I still like the underdrive pulley for it's advantages over stock.

You can use 90-93 accord radius rod if you want cheap and oem. Down side is only one bolt would work, but i've been running it daily for 1 years and couple track event no problem at all
