98 Gsr Died
I took apart under my dashboard to try and find a bad ground on my head unit. Found and fixed that issue. I noticed one of the wires going to the ignition was stripped. I forgot to wrap it with some electrical tape and reassembled everything. I started my car and it started just fine. I had the steering wheel the whole way up to get under the dash. So I released the tilt lever and the steering column fell down to the lowest setting. As this happened, my car shut off.
My cluster lights no longer work. When I go to start it, it does not even attempt to turn over, and I don't hear either the main relay click or the fuel pump prime. When I turn the care to ACC, it does nothing and everything is still unlit. The only things that work are my dome light, and headlights.
I am lost at what I did, but I do believe I shorted something out with the ignition wire being unprotected and touching metal when I lowered the steering column. Any info on where I should start is much appreciated
Cliffs:
took apart car
saw unprotected wire
forgot about it
reassembled everything
steering column falls
car dies
