97 Accord Cruise Control Question
im trying to diagnose an issue with my girlfriends car and soon hopefully as we are going on a LOOOOOOOOOONG trip and could desperatly use it, anyway. my girl has a 97 Accord 2 door coupe non-vtec. cruis control light on the switch works and powers on however the light on the dash does not. i tried to swap out the fuse's to see if it was blown and they were all fine. i decided to swap it out anyway but that didnt work. anyone have any ideas? and yes im attempting to use it on the highway with 50+ MPH and nothing....
please some one give me a sign

Bad light bulb in the dash, my fuel bulb doesn't work but I live with it.
If you are **** (sounds like you are) take out the cluster and replace the bulb.

hes not really worried about the bulb. if you read between the lines hes saying cruise control wont engage. i have almost the same problem. but a lil different. my cruise control takes a long time to engage after i hit set
Ok, In that case the cruise control cable could be damaged or the cruise control unit itself could be faulty. If you have a helms manual use it to diagnose the problem.
My old car the cruise control would engage and then disengage, the reason for that was when I worked on my I was careless and ended up damaging the cable.

@ lost_Again the switch on the dash you are talking about right? yes it has 12v with key on.
@ crispins all vaccum hose's look fine to me
everything on the car is bone stock no upgrades no working on it. i even tried the brake pedal thing where you lift up the pedal and try and use it still nothing. i also decided to check the wires at the under-the-hood cruise box ( where the cable comes from ) and non of the wires had power with the key and cruise switch on (not driving). any other ideas? is there a relay somewhere i can check?

Try pulling up on brake pedal while pushing set button on steering wheel. Make sure cruise control is on. Betchya it works! Sometimes brake pedal will rest on cancel switch by pedal making the car think someone has the brake on. I believe there is two switches one for brake lights and one for canceling cruise. If it works you probably could just adjust switch by moving and listening for it to click.
