Bad light bulb in the dash, my fuel bulb doesn't work but I live with it.

If you are **** (sounds like you are) take out the cluster and replace the bulb.

Ok, In that case the cruise control cable could be damaged or the cruise control unit itself could be faulty. If you have a helms manual use it to diagnose the problem.

My old car the cruise control would engage and then disengage, the reason for that was when I worked on my I was careless and ended up damaging the cable.

If the light on the dash isn't coming on, check the BLK/YEL wire going to the switch. It should have 12v with the key on. Does it?

@ lost_Again the switch on the dash you are talking about right? yes it has 12v with key on.

@ crispins all vaccum hose's look fine to me

everything on the car is bone stock no upgrades no working on it. i even tried the brake pedal thing where you lift up the pedal and try and use it still nothing. i also decided to check the wires at the under-the-hood cruise box ( where the cable comes from ) and non of the wires had power with the key and cruise switch on (not driving). any other ideas? is there a relay somewhere i can check?

Try pulling up on brake pedal while pushing set button on steering wheel. Make sure cruise control is on. Betchya it works! Sometimes brake pedal will rest on cancel switch by pedal making the car think someone has the brake on. I believe there is two switches one for brake lights and one for canceling cruise. If it works you probably could just adjust switch by moving and listening for it to click.
