Just pulled this off of a civic with a d16y8... The cracks inside I can feel but the ones on the outside you cannot feel. Do you think this pan is good to use or should it be replaced?

Neither pan is perfect, but I do think the steel pan has more going for that, and I live in a place where they rust through (all the freaking time
)
They really aren't that bad. Here's the thing, when I worked for Honda we used to replace aluminum pans all the time because of stripped drain plug holes, also if you're lowered (or drive off-road like I do) they tend to get smashed on bumps or rocks.

Btw, The cracks on the inside of the pan just look like casting marks, the ones on the outside I'm not so sure about. You might want to put a propane torch on them and see if they open up.
I would replace it if I were you. I've bought and sold Y8 pans for around 30 bucks. Make sure you install your new one properly. Get a new Y8 oil pan gasket and use some hondabond on the gasket. I forget the certain areas where you use the hondabond. Also torque it in the correct sequence or else you may have to start all over. I've read a few DIYs on it.
And the Y7 pan is heavier than the Y8 pan. W3Ight R3duCt10n Y0!
