Icon6 M2Y4 Countershaft Top Needle Bearing - Orientation

Guys, I was wondering if you could help me with a bearing question.

I am assembling the countershaft and the needle bearing right under the top ball bearing.

In the service manual it looks like the metal around the bearings sit where it can slide upwards, as pictured in the attached pictures. Hope that makes sense.

But I have a weird noise in the trans that sounds like metal rubbing while driving and at higher speeds its a little louder.

Anyways I was wondering if the words on the bearing need to face upwards like all the other bearings.

To be clear. You're saying that the outer part shouldn't be able to touch the 5th gear?
