its an aluminum or some kind of metal part that replaces your eom rubber one. The upper mount goes in your fender where your damper (shocks) mounts up. You dont need it unless your doing some serious autocross or roadracing

this could allow me to get a real set of coil overs now.

 

yea.. just use your stock mounts, youll be fine.
