Icon2 Removing A/C unit from my civic

I have a 98 civic dx, I am removing the ac unit bc it doesnt work and its weight reduction anyways. My question is do i have to worry about keeping any of the wiring or anything else on there? or can i take out everthing that is associated with air conditioning?.. thanks.

Instead of fixing parts, remove them.

Brilliant!

I think you can remove the short A/C wire harness.

Do you mean wire harnesses or hard lines for the refrigerant?

As mentioned you can remove the "short harness", it is all the electrical wiring you can remove, the rest is part of engine/dash harness.

There is also a short harness under the dash that can be removed

You can remove the A/C compressor, A/C condensor, all A/C lines, and the A/C evaportor and housing, [but you will need the air duct that is in place of the housing...

If you end up removing the ac, pm me and I'll take the parts off of you.

Are you now interested in fixing your A/C? Do you have any idea why it doesn't work?

@Ronj Yeah its because theres no belt on the ac pulley. So i bought a belt and me and a friend put my car on the lift to put it on and we couldnt get the motor mount off that the belt has to go underneath, so i took it to a shop figuring they could do it with impact tools, and they couldnt get it either so i pretty much gave up on fixing it.

If you can't remove the two bolts securing the torque mount to the frame, then an alternate method is to unscrew the long bolt that passes through the middle of the rubber part of the torque mount from the compressor bracket.
