Help With Price
Thinking of selling my 96 Accord LX which I have owned since 04. I am the second owner and it has 137,XXX miles now. Very clean with religious maintenance including Mobil 1 synthetic since 44,000 miles. New Tein springs, Tokico blue shocks/struts, new front rotors, PBR AXXis pads, new plugs, cap, rotor, plug wires, at 105,000 miles. Timing belt, water pump, all belts, valve cover gasket, thermostat, and front left axle at 122,732 miles. Trans fluid changed every other inspection and the details go on and on. The bad: front right cv boot is torn so it will need a new right side axle and since the suspension it has a small amount of camber which makes the tires slightly noisy at 26,000+ miles. Obviously I would want well over KBB and really not sure I will sell it at all. Opinions, thoughts?
the aftermarket parts won't help value, and may even hurt it in many cases. complete service records from a shop/dealer will help value. If you get "well over" book value it may take a you quite a while to find the right buyer that cares for the car the way you do. If you really want to sell it than book value will be what you can really expect at best.
You don't gain any value when adding aftermarket parts unless you sell to an avid Accord owner like yourself. Usually you'll get more by removing aftermarket parts and going back to oem.
Personally, I would never buy a used car with modifications because I would assume (probably safely) that it has seen its days of getting driven hard. No thanks!
The receipts do help greatly but not much since it is not stock. Good luck!

Just put a far sale ad out from time to time, and keep a sign on it. You never know.
It is a good looking car and maybe one day someone will drive by and love it and want to pay close to what you want.
We went through a similar thing with my wife's 99 lude when she got pregnant we sold it, and it was like yours, very well kept, plus had fresh paint (no dents or dings at all) new windshield, new headlights, new tires and new radiator all within the year before. We didn't get what we were asking for it, but we got enough and the new owner loved the car. Passing it on to someone that is enthusiastic about it is still a good thing. We loved that car, but it just wasn't practical anymore for us.

Well if it HAS to go, take the $5k offer and run. I would have suggested you can get $4k if you have all the maintenance records and your area has a high demand for hondas. Good looking car though.
