Default EF Hatch Beater, to be or not to be?

Got it towed to me yesterday. Battery is dead, currently seeking another. Front bumper is inside the car. Interior needs to be clean, front seat replaced, rear are okay. Car is suppose to run, but I haven't verified, because the battery is dead. Not sure of the direction, I want to go but, we will see. Sorry for pic quality.

plans:
hx's
lower car
upgrade with better oem brakes, dual purpose track and street
cluster swap
remove carpet, leave bare or replace with oem or replacement
replace seats, seen some rsx leathers got my eye on

wow, rough... how much did you get it for, if you don't mind me asking? Definitely has potential, though (from what I can see), but could also have a ton of problems.

i say def salvageable. I got my SI for 500 and it was BEAT (missmatched rims, no maintaince ever done, brakes were all screwed, paint was screwed, fenders and hood were toast... all in all ive only put about 600 into it minus the purchase price and it looks a whole lot better after only 2 months. just make sure its not a rust bucket and the body is straight then go from there.

That looks to be gasket maker or it could be oil with coolant

Look under your oil cap as well. You're looking for a frothy/milky terrible looking goo. Shine a light down the oil fill port for a better look, also.

Also, look down in your radiator for any oil.

Can you get a better picture of where the stuff is leaking from the head?

It would be a safe guess that the head was leaking oil so they put the gasket sealer in there to bandaid it. The front of the block looks caked in oil. Looking at a head gasket or a swap.

Lol... Accord headlight. I thought of doing that years ago. Thought it would never fit. Hillarious!

I agree, if you look at the exhaust manifold where it meets the head, it looks like a gasket maker goo, too, instead of a real gasket. But, it's also tough to say, the picture is a little blurry, but works.

To be safe, I would suggest replacing the head gasket at minimum. This time, don't use some garbage liquid gasket crap like they did, haha.

Remove the head, get yourself a haynes manual, replace headgasket and either be cheap and risky and reuse the headstuds or go on majestic honda and order new ones... They're only $3 a piece, so $30 for peace of mind is amazing. A lot cheaper than the dealership.

To fix window, remove the door panel after removing the window crank arm. There's a little like almost complete C clip wrapped around it (pull the crank arm out towards you if youre sitting in the driver's seat.) You'll need a small flat head or something, it's easy. Remove the clip, pull the arm off. Then remove the door panel. Remove the stupid plastic wrap crap, reuse that if you'd like or if you think you have crazy leaks in your car (I don't so I just tossed that ****). The fix should be easy, multiple problems it could be having though so get this far and then either figure it out or come back and tell us what's going on with some pics.
